The Army Military Command, the Army Education Command, and the Korea Institute of Defense MICE will hold the 2023 InLEX Korea 2023 at the Daejeon Convention Center in Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, for three days from June 13 to 15. The Military Industry Development Competition is an event that seeks the development of the defense industry and the development of markets for related companies through defense-related technology exchanges, policy briefing sessions, civil-military meetings, and professional seminars.

At the scene, ▲FA-50VR simulator (Korea Aerospace Industries) ▲ marine unmanned system and low-orbit satellite (Hanwha system) ▲ communication module for aviation and portable satellite antennas and drones (KTSat) ▲ anti-drone system (Samjeong solution) ▲ communication relay drones (Skyruman) ▲ ultra-precision satellite navigation devices (Synerex) have attracted attention.

In particular, models such as the Korean fighter jet (KF-21) and autonomous unmanned submarine for anti-submarine reconnaissance, which are considered to be responsible for the future of the Korean Air Force, as well as simulators that can experience domestic light attack aircraft (KF-50) in virtual reality (VR).

At the 2023 Korea Military Industry Development Competition, various measures were drawn up to expand the scope of military operations using drones and related solutions.

The communication relay drone (SLR-90) developed by Skyluman serves as a repeater to prevent communication loss in areas where communication is not smooth, especially in alpine areas.

The communication relay drone developed by the company can fly at an altitude of 1.5 to 2km for up to 3 hours using hybrid power, said Han Bok-hee, CEO of Skyluman. "It has the advantage of making it difficult for the enemy to predict and carry out various operations."

Synerex, a company that developed a satellite navigation device that provides ultra-precise location information of less than 2cm on average, installed the device on a drone and set up a booth.

Drones, which operate based on ultra-precise satellite navigation devices, are expected to fly at an error of less than 2cm in latitude and longitude and less than 10cm in altitude, take off, land, and fly to the exact location, and perform special missions required by the military.

The company has also developed drone education software that can determine whether drones are flying on a set route.

"If drones can fly precisely, they can perform various tasks between numerous buildings, rooftops, and steel towers," said Park Jae-deok, CEO of Cinerrex. "Most drone education and training sites still judge flight trajectories with the naked eye. "If education and training courses that enable the military to perform special tasks are applied to the solution, it will contribute to the digitalization of drone units," he said.

Meanwhile, at the 2023 Korea Military Industry Development Competition, various seminars will also be held to seek cooperation between the public, government, and military.

On the 13th, the first day, a seminar was held under the theme of "Development of a Combination Combat System for the Performance of Future Wars" along with a keynote presentation by Shin Jin-kyo, deputy director of the Defense Science Research Institute.

On the 14th, the "Munitions Innovation Seminar for Defense Innovation 4.0" will be held along with the keynote presentation by Shin Sang-beom, head of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, and on the 15th, the "Defense Space and Satellite Communication Development Seminar for Modern Warfare."

Based on recent war cases, the event was organized under the theme of fostering high-tech science and technology groups and establishing a public-private-military cooperation system for industrial development, said an official at the Korea Defense MICE Research Institute. "We look forward to creating synergy for the development of K-bangsan," he said.
